Blurb from Goodreads:

In the follow-up to Colleen Hoover’s #1 New York Times bestseller Hopeless, the charming and irresistible Dean Holder tells the passionate story that has melted thousands of hearts. In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared, and no memory forgotten, but Holder’s past remained a mystery. Still haunted by the little girl he let walk away, Holder has spent his entire life searching for her in an attempt to finally rid himself of the crushing guilt he has felt for years. But he could not have anticipated that the moment they reconnect, even greater remorse would overwhelm him… Sometimes in life, if we wish to move forward, we must first dig deep into our past and make amends. In Losing Hope, bestselling author Colleen Hoover reveals what was going on inside Holder’s head during all those hopeless moments—and whether he can gain the peace he desperately needs.

REVIEW:

I decided to write this review while I was riding the tail end of the emotional turmoil my heart is going through after reading this book. I really don't know how Hoover does it, how she continues to amaze us   and keep things fresh.

"Moments like these with people like her are what make all the suffering worth it. It's moments like these that keep people looking forward and I can't believe I've let them slip by for an entire month."

Her books are complex stories that tell the tale of human emotion weaved through the mess and hardship every person somehow goes through. And the best part, her books are more than just woe is me I got the shaft. Its about taking the shit life gives you and finding hope, finding the reasons to keep living and dealing with the mess life throws at us. She does this with grace, humor, grief, and tears. Hoover brings you up and takes you down, continues to shock you in a story that has already been told.

"But I'm not falling in love with her piece by piece anymore. I'm in love with the whole girl. Every single piece of her."

Losing Hope, told from Holder's POV, gave new insight into this story. When he sees Sky when she is running and stops in front of his house. His reaction? I loved it. I loved it so hard. Seeing that run throughs Holder's view was on of my favorites. Hoover was able to take an amazing book and retell it in a fresh way. Holder was amazing in so many ways. You felt the grief and guilt that he held and as parts of the puzzle start to come together, you see the hope that brings strength to Sky and Holder.

"The only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers."

And there were times when my heart broke. This story wasn't just about Sky it was about Holder how he dealt with...everything. I just can't get over how heartfelt this story was. How real it played out and how it tapped into a soul deep emotional connection of human faith.
Through the tears and laughter and sorrow and joy I am giving Losing Hope 5 AMAZING Stars of Awesomesauce. (That was me channeling Daniel ;)

I am leaving you with a song. A song love so much and I think fits Sky and Holder oh so well. Enjoy.

And to this day
When everything breaks
You are the anchor that holds me

And that is why we'll always make it
How I know your face
All the ways you move
You come in, I can read you
You're my favourite book
All the things you say
The way you shift your eyes
I never knew there was someone to make me come alive
